New York City Ballet has chosen Brooklyn based artist Dustin Yellin to fill in the central hall as part of this year’s installation series. Each of the fifteen glass cubes is made of individual layers of glass, painstakingly painted and put together with mixed media, one by one to form a striking three-dimensional drawing which appears to be floating in the transparent volume. The Water Tank Project Takes Over NYC

Over 100 water tanks will be wrapped in the next few months (many of which have already been done) with art by established artists including John Baldessari, Jeff Koons, Maya Lin, Andy Goldsworthy, street artists such as Icy & Sot, Barry McGee, and Fab 5 Freddy, emerging artists, and even NYC public school students.

Beautifully Abstract Video by studio Zeitguised

We are happy to have stumbled upon another cool project by Zeitguised (previous one here) on Epistrophy.

Zeitguised is a studio for contemporary art. Founded in 2001 by American sculpture and fashion designer Jamie Raap and German architect Henrik Mauler, their collective crafts unique, cryptic and texture-juxtaposing digital creations that are both organic and mechanical in nature.

Previously featured on Epistrophy for her collaboration with Daniela Figurniak to create the WUAU! characters, Estela Cuadro’s personal work is captivating in its own right. Full of rich detail and masterful use of watercolors, the artworks draw inspiration from circus performers and fictional characters.
